Dr. Tony Caterisano is a distinguished powerlifter and professor of exercise physiology at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. With over 35 years of academic experience, he has authored numerous research papers and co-authored books on strength training. As a competitive powerlifter, Dr. Caterisano has secured 16 consecutive South Carolina state titles and 10 national titles in the Masters division. He also earned 10 world gold medals in the World Natural Powerlifting Federation (WNPF) World Championships from 2002 to 2012. Beyond his personal achievements, Dr. Caterisano has significantly contributed to the sport's community. He has coached Furman's powerlifting team to multiple world championships and has been instrumental in organizing local competitions, including the WNPF South Carolina Championships. Dr. Caterisano's dedication to powerlifting and strength training has left an indelible mark on both the academic and athletic communities. Dr. Caterisano is a member of the WNPF Powerlifting Hall of Fame.
