By Strength and Power Hall of Fame

A brief personal history:
I was born and raised in Mount Washington Kentucky where I currently still live with my amazing wife Sandy, daughters Cassie, Chelsea, Candice, my son Gabriel, ( and son Jayden who is in heaven ). I am a local 669 Sprinkler Fitter by trade employed by Midwest Sprinkler. I have served my community as a former volunteer fire fighter, member of the Masonic lodge and Kosair Shrine. I attend church at Southeast Christian in Louisville Kentucky. I have enjoyed competing in powerlifting for the past 23 years and look forward to many more.

What led you to your sport:
As a child I was always fascinated with watching The Worlds Strongest Man on television and how powerful and athletic those men were. As I got into high school I wanted to try out for football but was discouraged by my eye doctor due to me being legally blind ( without contacts or glasses ). He explained the potential to permanently lose my eyesight with helmet to helmet impact. Since I couldn’t play I decided to weight train with the team. I noticed early on that I was above average in how much weight I could lift and and wanted to build on that to see where it could take me. I started competing at 19 and was fortunate enough to be mentored by the likes of Keith Griffee and the late Dr. Darrell Latch.
