By Strength and Power Hall of Fame

A brief personal history:
I am 64 years old and a retired police chief and college professor. While serving 25 years in the Plainsboro Police Department, I assisted in creating the weight room for the officers. As Lt., I was responsible for the police candidate's physical fitness exam. I was responsible for the mandatory semi-annual physical fitness exam for on-duty officers. After retiring as Police Chief, I transitioned to Mercer County Community College as a full-time professor of Criminal Justice, where I could mentor young adults wanting a career in Law Enforcement. I included lessons within my curriculum emphasizing the importance of strength training and overall fitness to prepare for the job.
What led you to your sport:
I have lifted weights since my teenage years. I majored in Health and Physical education at East Stroudsburg University, where I continued to lift weights. After graduation, I became a police officer at Plainsboro Township and competed in three PBA Bench Press contests. I began competing in USAPL in 2013 as a Raw Bench-only competitor and have competed in local, state, and national contests. Recently, I competed in the USPA and WNPF federations. Being strong is essential to me as part of my overall health. I believe in the connection between a strong body and a strong mind.

Other accomplishments:
In unofficial ways, I promote strength training and powerlifting. As a police Lieutenant in Plainsboro, I was responsible for the semi-annual physical fitness test for on-duty officers. As a college professor (2009-2022) at Mercer County Community College, I promoted strength training by interjecting the topic into my lessons. I have mentored numerous students and assisted them by providing strength training routines.
