Patrick “Pat” Casey

By Strength and Power Hall of Fame
Pat started lifting in the mid-1950s while in high school. While Pat excelled at several sports he was primarily interested in strength. Pat benched a strict 420 when he was still in high school as witnessed by Bill Pearl. When Pat started powerlifting the rules were strictly enforced and support gear was an ace bandage. Pat was never defeated in his career (1958-1967) and he competed against the best heavyweights of his day. Well over 6 feet tall and 330lbs Pat was the real deal and looked it. Pat’s success was due to his intense work ethic. Pat spent a lot of time in the gym and his marathon workouts are an inspiration.
