Richard “Dick” Bachtell Sr.

BIO
Dick was born in Wisconsin and moved to Pennsylvania early in life. He started lifting in the 1920’s and lifted for the Hagerstown Maryland Club which was one of the largest in the country. Around 1930 Bob Hoffman offered Dick a job at York Oil Burner (Soon to be York Barbell). Dick accepted and lifted for York for 15 years and worked for York Barbell for about 45 years.
