Sarah Bailey Smith. (Contributor). 7/25/1914-9/5/2012.  Sarah lived in Arlington Virginia and was the wife of long-time DCAAU Weightlifting Chairman Dick Smith.

 

*Sarah was a weightlifting International Referee Category 2.

 

*Sarah served as an official from about 1945 to 1970. I recall lifting in the early 1970s and Sarah was one of the officials.

 

*Sarah may have judged at national-level meets including the Seniors. While this is a recollection of a few lifters from the 1950s and 1960’s it is quite probably correct since Sarah was an International Referee.
