By Strength and Power Hall of Fame

A brief personal history:
I was born and raised in the small town of West Sand Lake NY., with 4 siblings. I guess you could say we had a small horse farm. I guess that is where the base of my strength came from. Throwing bales of hay, and shoveling horse stalls. Throwing feed bags on my shoulders and bringing them to the barn. In HS I was introduced to wrestling and after training sessions, I would spend time in the weight room. Working on my strength and flexibility. Individual sport worked for my personality, as when you lose it is nobody's fault but your own. I did not find powerlifting till I was 48 yrs old. I was lifting again to improve my health after years of an unhealthy life style. This is when a friend from HS said to me I should start competing in Powerlifting. I fell in love with the sport and have continued since.

What led you to your sport:
What Led me to the sport. At the Age or 48 I was experiencing health issues having been an athlete when I was younger, I knew I had to do something. I took his advise and have enjoyed every moment since. Side benefit is, Strength sports keep me healthy
