The Vince Anello journey began in Cleveland, Ohio. Vince attended Midpark High School, where he wrestled and played football. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace College, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. During his time at Baldwin Wallace, he began training at Vince's gym, where he met his first and longtime coach Vince Lubawicki. The rest is, we shall say, powerlifting history.
In 1967 Vince won the Teenage America bodybuilding contest, placed third in the most muscular and best arms . In 1972 he won his first AAU Powerlifting Competition, and in 1975 Vince became the first to deadlift 800lbs at a bodyweight under 200lbs. Bob Peoples, the first to deadlift 700lbs at the same bodyweight, congratulated him immediately afterward.
Vince is a member of several Hall of Fames, including the York Barbell HoF, AAU World Strength HoF and the Ohio HoF.
We have attached links below to the many accomplishments in Vince's extraordinary career.
