Personal history: 
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois - a tough community in West Englewood. I graduated from Dunbar Vocational Career Academy in 2001 where I ran track and played football for four years. During high school I was a member of the 2001 Harold Washington all-star football team . In 2005 , I received my associates degree in arts from Kennedy King College. After college I had three children Jenya Roberson (16) Jeniece Roberson , (13) Janae Roberson (8) and my 4th daughter through my past marriage Janiya Tillman (18)

What lead you to your sport:
I started lifting weights at around ten years old . It started off as I watched my neighbors lifting in their back yard . Everybody told me I was too little but nothing stopped me from getting involved. I competed in my first powerlifting competition in Kankakee, Illinois in 2014 winning best lifter for Benchpress and setting multiple state records lifting 280 and 290 lbs in the 132 lb class. 

 

Achievements:
20-time State Champion
14-time national Champion  
13-time World Champion in the following federations WPF, WPC,AWPC and the WUAP 

 

State, National and World records:
Holder of Six World Records in Benchpress and Deadlifts 
16 National Records in Benchpress and Deadlifts and Curls 
22 State Records in Benchpress , Deadlifts and Curls 

Other accomplishments.
I’m a 14 time best lifter in Benchpress and Curls 

 

Other activities within the sport:
I’m a founder and coach of a nonprofit youth organization called Team “ We Owe “ in the Englewood community of Chicago. We mentor, discipline and train kids in our community which help keep them successful in life.
