A brief personal history:
Rup Karki, Originally from Baglung, Galkot is the first world champion from Nepal. Despite all the struggles and misfortunes Rup courageously followed his passion all his life to become a hero for his entire country. Rug grew up in a family of farmers and rarely saw his dad who was away in the Army for India. In 2003 he moved to Texas then finally to Virginia. In 2012, a Strength and Power Hall of Famer, Scott Kuzma took Rup under his wing and Rup flourished working toward his ultimate dream of his life becoming the Mater Powerlifting Competition runner up in his first meet in 2012, then one after another he won gold medals from ESPL and ESPA, then in 2016 he won the Masters


 

Powerlifting Championship in 2 categories and in 2017 won the Worlds in The International Powerlifting Competition

Initiated a powerlifting school in Nepal, and the Nepal Powerlifting Association. He is the sports committee advisor of the NRNA / USA

Activities within the sport i.e. Judge, meet director, trainer, demonstrations, community actvities etc.
Judged meets in his home country of Nepal and brought Powerlifting gyms to Nepal
