In 1969 Tony’s 1963 181lb Teenage State Total Record of 850 pounds was still higher than the State Teenage Total record for the 198lb, 242lb and heavyweight classes.

As of 11/1969 Tony still held all the Virginia State Teenage 181lb class records.

Tony assisted Bob Crist with coaching the LWPC lifters and was always available to assist with meets in any capacity. Tony would often set up/tear down, load, judge and or conduct weigh in even when he was scheduled to lift. Unfortunately Tony developed knee problems in 1965 which prevented him from reaching his world class potential. Tony lifted drug free and encourages all athletes to stay drug free.

 

@ During Tony’s career there was no teenage division at most State and local meets. If there had been a teenage division Tony would have won several additional Teenage State Titles.
