Robert "Bobby" Crist II Virginia Strength and Power HoF inductee 2024

Bobby started lifting in the late 1960’s. He was trained by his father former Virginia Heavyweight Champion and National Weightlifting Chairman Robert “Bob” Crist. Bobby’s brothers Jonathan and Paul were also competitive lifters. Bobby’s mother Yolanda volunteered at meets for decades starting in 1953. Bobby was State Superheavyweight Champion at least twice, lifted in three Junior World Championships and was a three time National Collegiate Champion.

Bobby held all the age group Virginia State Records in the 165lb and 165lb+ class 12-13 year olds. As Bobby grew he held the Virginia State Records for 14-15 and 16-17 year olds in the 198lb and 198lb+ classes.

In 1980 Bobby C&J 180kg for a Virginia State and National Age Group Record.

Bobby held all the Virginia State Superheavyweight teenage records in 1980.
